Fashion Ethics

1. List the changes that were made to the model's face.

Eye Adjustments, Shoulder Adjustments, Facial Construction

2. In your opinion, explain if you think it is ethically ok to change a person's appearance like this in a photo.

Well its not ok because who wants to look like something there not but only in a picture that doesn't give the truth and only making the company look good.

3. Under what circumstances is it worse than others?

Manipulating complete photo

4. What types of changes are ok, and what aren't?

None (make-up only)

5. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism. What relationship does each have to reality, and how does this affect the ethics of each.

Fashion photography is much more flexible with ethics to create absolute beauty, however photojournalism is strict do to showing only the truth and nothing less. But both are related in ways that the person or thing is still present in the final product, ethnics is affect because reality is manipulated.

Photojournalism Ethics

1. Should a photojournalists ethics be absolute or situational? Why?

Situational, because there are some flaws in some pictures such as scratches and spots and there the only thing holding it back from a successful and great shot so why not edit the flaws and keep the final product and still be called the truth.

2. Can a photo really capture truth? Why or why not?

Well in my opinion sometimes because lighting may not be the way you would like it so i think that will be the only thing that is keeping the picture from the entire truth.

3. What decisions have you made as a photographer that "edit" reality? Explain.

Reality must never be changed and must always give the truth that a photograph should always show. Edit must be kept to a minimal amount.

4. Why is it important that news organizations have clearly defined ethical standards?

so there will not be anymore or less conflicts toward the people who care and side with absolute ethics.
