This is a great photo because the expression that the person is giving is great and makes the picture interesting and attracts people due to the hand gesture. Also its up close and at a great angle, theres not any dead space that might distract people.
This picture is not so so great because the picture is taken from a far distance so there for there is much dead space and makes the picture boring and unattracting.
